"VanGogh" Sunflowers (aka Jolly Joker)

"VanGogh" Sunflowers (aka Jolly Joker)

These sunflowers were originally called "Jolly Joker" but I changed the name to "VanGogh".  This variety reminds me of the sunflowers that Van Gogh painted:  "Still Life Vase With Sunflowers" .   I feel a special bond with Van Gogh (no - I didn't cut off my ear and No I don't eat paint) - because my "camp name" was "VanGogh" and I love sunflowers.

ENJOY!!

All photos were taken by me (Angie Ouellette-Tower) and the sunflowers were all grown in my garden (2012 Sunflower seeds were from Pinetree Garden Seeds).

  1. Gorgeous! Sunflowers are the happiest flower -- how lovely to enjoy them in your garden! Van Gogh's sunflowers are among my favorites of his paintings.
