The Mushroom Tree - God's Guidance, Protection & Provision
A few weeks ago, we noticed the most amazing thing growing high up in one of the trees that we have out front on our property. It was golden oyster mushrooms!! There were three large clusters of these mushrooms and they were so high up that even our tallest ladder could not come close to reaching the highest cluster.
The sunshine seemed to be like a spotlight on these yellow mushrooms - you couldn't help but look at them. It was then that we noticed the tree beside the mushroom tree had a giant cut straight though the entire trunk (see picture below).
This became an emergency situation because if that limb were to fall, it would fall on the road out front. It is a subdivision where young children ride their bikes right by that tree and moms are pushing their babies in strollers underneath.
It was the weekend, so most tree removal companies were not working. Initially we had a difficult time getting a response (we even called 911 thinking that maybe the fire department would assist in situations like this - they don't if the tree is not actually on the ground). Anyway, we finally found a tree company and the tree was so tall that they had to use their large truck with the bucket that brings the lumberjack high up into the tree (I don't know the name of that truck).
After the tree had been safely removed, I realized that God was in total control of the situation - He had guided, protected and provided.
God guided our eyes to see the cut in the tree
"The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs."
Isaiah 58:11
God protected us and the neighborhood from harm (if the tree had fallen on the road)
"But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one."
2 Thessalonians 3:3
God provided a timely solution to the dangerous problem

We may not know the details but God is ALWAYS in control! He is guiding, protecting and providing.
