The Basics - Toasting Almonds for Baking

Every time I toast almonds for baking I am amazed at the different taste between untoasted and toasted.  Untoasted almonds are very bland and toasted almonds are rich and aromatic - toasting almonds before baking will make your recipe - it's a must!

Almonds before being toasted

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.  Spread the sliced or slivered almonds on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes (or until desired golden brown color is achieved).  Allow the toasted almonds to cool before adding to whatever Christmas cookie recipe that you are making - ENJOY!

See the nice golden color of toasted almonds.

  1. I love all almonds -- toasted, untoasted. They make almost everything better. Especially ice cream sundaes!
