What I'm Thankful for Today #9 - GOD'S WORD
About ten years ago I did a series called "365 Days of Being THANKFUL". Everyday I posted something for which I was thankful and I did this for 365 days. Well, this year I decided to do a smaller version of that series and post something everyday during the month of November.
Today I am thankful for GOD'S WORD.
This past winter I did a series on "God's Word." We studied God's word (the Bible) to see what it says about God's word (I know, sounds like I'm going around in circles). There were three parts and then in a fourth post I refuted the "Doctrine of Preservation." Let's recap those posts:
In part #1 we learned that God's word is written in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (see passage below).

In Part#2 we listed the "Dos & Don'ts" of God's word. Most Christians today (I was one of them before doing this detailed study), do not realize what the Bible actually says about God's word. And many of these Christians are unintentionally distorting God's word.

In Part#3 we studied what God's word is (see list below):
God's word is.....
- eternal (will never pass away)
- stored in heaven
- the beginning
- light
- joy
- flawless
- the Sword of the Spirit
- living & active
- like fire
- fulfilled (it will finish what God wants it to do)
- life
- truthWe learned that God's word is eternal - it lasts forever:
However, we learned that God's word is NOT preserved in written form - rather, it is preserved in heaven for ever and ever.
"O Lord, thy word is preserved forever in heaven."
Psalm 119:89

Unfortunately, many modern Christians seem to be worshiping the Bible instead of worshiping the God of the Bible.
