This is a series called:  "Fun Fridays".  On the first Friday of every month I will share with you an old photo or something from the recent past that made me happy;  in hopes that it will at least make you smile 😊

The picture collage above is my grandmother (my Oma or Omi - German for grandma).  Previously I shared a "prayer story" about her strong character of being a "Prayer Warrior".  (click HERE to read "Prayer & Persistence" ).
Today I am sharing the real truths of what it was like to raise 3 children during WWII with food ration books.
I felt this true life story is relevant to today's situation that we all find ourselves in, with regard to an "injected medicine" that might be required to buy food.  However, I am going to preface this story with a disclaimer - by no means am I encouraging anyone to commit any crime - I will NEVER suggest that by any means.
These ration coupons or books during WWII were simply put - not enough to feed a family.   My grandmother created a unique way of getting more food (which most likely prevented her family from starving).  She was a seamstress, so she bartered.  She knew a farm family and they had an agreement:  she sewed clothing for them and they paid her with sacks of flour and sugar.  My grandmother came up with a genius way of concealing these sacks of flour and sugar from the Nazis.  She made "special" undergarments for herself with places to stuff the flour and sugar sacks into pockets so that these sacks would just resemble a roly-poly figure.
I can only imagine that she must have been exhausted by the time she walked a great distance back to town.  If it had been me, I would have had the bread already baked by the time I got home with lugging all that extra weight around my belly (haha).
The moral of this true story is that God provides.  Our life and our bodies were given to us by God - if any government creates "mandates" or "ration books" that will infringe on our God-given right to life then we must follow God's laws before any man-made life killing rules.
ENJOY!
