Biblical Anatomy #11 - MOUTH

Biblical Anatomy #11 - MOUTH
Today we continue studying in the series called "Biblical Anatomy."

Anatomy - is the study of parts and structures of organisms.

What is "Biblical Anatomy" you might ask?  It is the study of the structure of the Christian Body.

Today we focus on MOUTH (In future posts we will detail: lips, teeth, throat & tongue - which are all part of the mouth):

Mouth- "the natural opening through which food passes into the body of an animal and which in vertebrates is typically bounded externally by the lips and internally by the pharynx and encloses the tongue, gums, and teeth".

There are three main categories when it comes to the "mouth" in the Bible:
Mouth of the Lord
Our mouth praises God
The link between the heart and what comes out of our mouth

MOUTH OF THE LORD

I especially love the second verse in the picture below - God's Word ALWAYS has a purpose and that purpose is ALWAYS accomplished.  The Bible is God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16) and therefore EVERYTHING in it has a purpose that WILL be accomplished according to God's plan/timing.

OUR MOUTH PRAISES GOD

A few years ago I did a series on Psalm 119 and the Hebrew Alphabet.  Verse 103 is especially perfect for this topic - God's promises are sweeter than honey to our mouth (click HERE to view "Psalm 119 - MEM Hebrew Alphabet")

Also, "praise" is detailed in Psalm 119:164:
“Seven times a day I praise you.”
in that post I created the 7-PRAISE-daily Challenge:
I encourage you to take up the
7-PRAISE-daily Challenge.

Give our Lord seven compliments a day.  You will be amazed at how easy it is to praise God seven times a day.

In the two verses below we see that our mouths should be filled with praise for our Lord all day long!

THE LINK BETWEEN THE HEART AND WHAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTH

Finally, there's a definite link between our heart and what comes out of our mouth.  The verse below describes this perfectly:

SundayBiblicalAnatomy11A

If God's Word fills our heart then only righteous words will come out of our mouths:

But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it."
Deuteronomy 30:14

Let's fill our heart with God's Word so that our mouth will praise Him all day long!
