Biblical Anatomy #8 - FOREHEAD

Biblical Anatomy #8 - FOREHEAD
Today we continue studying in the series called "Biblical Anatomy."

Anatomy - is the study of parts and structures of organisms.

What is "Biblical Anatomy" you might ask?  It is the study of the structure of the Christian Body.

Today we focus on the FOREHEAD:

Forehead - The part of the face between the eyebrows, the normal hairline and the temples.

The muscles of the forehead help to form facial expressions.  There are 4 basic motions that these forehead muscles can preform: 1.  The occipitofrontalis muscles raise the eyebrows and create a surprise expression.  2.  These same muscles move each eyebrow individually (one brow at a time) making a quizzical expression.  3.  The corrugator supecilii muscles pull eyebrows inward and  4.  push the eyebrows down creating a frown.

When studying the "Biblical forehead" we learn that it is very important.  The forehead protects the brain or the mind which symbolizes our wisdom, memory, knowledge, discernment, emotions.  In the verse below we see that we are to "bind the commandments on our forehead."  To me this has a twofold meaning.  First, the obvious one is that we are to memorize God's Word but to bind it to our forehead implies that it will withstand the test of time.  Second, the fact that it is bound to our forehead means that others will be able to see it (live God's law so that others will see).

The "forehead" is only mentioned at the beginning of the Bible when talking about memorizing God's Word and then at the end when "revealing" what will happen in the "end times".  In the verse below we learn that "the mark of the beast" will be on their right hands or their foreheads.  I believe that the "forehead" in Revelation is referring to the mind - the deception and brainwashing that will happen (or possibly is happening) in the end times.

"It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads."
Revelation 13:16

So many people are afraid to even read the book of Revelation but if we are children of God then we have NOTHING to fear.  We will NOT be harmed by the beast if we belong to God!  See the verse below - those who have the "seal of God on their foreheads" can NOT be harmed!!

If you are a Christian then your mind has been sealed (protected) by God!

Finally, since today is a very evil day on the calendar (October 31st), I thought we'd finish this post talking about trusting God even (or especially) when we are faced with an evil giant.  Let's look back at the Old Testament and specifically "David & Goliath"
(In 1 Samuel).
Isn't it interesting that David, (by totally trusting God and following His plan) was able to take down the terrifying giant with just a tiny (tiny compared to a giant) stone!  And where did this stone hit Goliath??? - The forehead! (see verse below).

Memorize and live God's Word by "binding it to our foreheads".
Take comfort in knowing that as a child of God your mind has been sealed (protected).
