Saving Sunflower Seeds for Eating
As you may know, I have been growing and documenting sunflower varieties for 14 years now (see post below):
The one thing that I have not done in these 14 years is try to save the sunflower seeds for eating.  Usually it is because of the critters who eat the sunflower seeds before I have a chance to harvest and dry the flower heads.
(see the post below about the squirrel activity around our house):

Well, this year I was quick enough to snatch a few flower heads before they were gobbled up by our neighborhood critters.
Just look at the tightly and precisely placed seeds in the flower head below:
I am amazed at God's creation and am reminded of this Bible verse:
"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God."
Romans 1:20
Once the flower head dries, the seeds will easily fall out as seen below.

I will not roast the seeds since I like them raw (and they are healthier for you that way).

Just think about God's abundance - one seed planted this spring provided hundreds of edible seeds in the autumn!!  Truly amazing!!!
ENJOY!
