SECRECY #14 - Flags
Today is the fourteenth part in the study about "secrecy."
With the Memorial Day holiday tomorrow, I need to make something very clear before continuing on with the content of this post. I believe that the United States of America is still the best country in the world today. I also thank all of the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country.
However, as we have seen in previous posts in this series, the "powers-that-be" have either lied or kept many things secret from us (that includes for our topic today).
Our topic today is "Flags".
Let's begin by reading what it says about flags in the Bible.
There are different terms for "flags" in the Bible and the main one is "Standard".
Standard - specific flags, banners or tribal emblems of the Israelite tribes/families.
There are twelve tribes of Israel (click HERE to read "The Tribes of Israel") and in the Scripture passage below we see that each tribe had a banner (flag). These were used to organize where each family clan would setup camp around the tabernacle.
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: “The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family.”
Numbers 2:1-2
God told Moses exactly where each tribe would setup their tents and those positions (east, north, west or south of the tabernacle) remained the same as they journeyed through the desert.
There were over 600,000 men in all the tribes combined (excluding the tribe of Levi), which is why banners were necessary for each family to be able to find their tribe to know where to setup their tents.
"These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550."
Numbers 2:32
(I will be doing a different post sometime in the future featuring what each tribe flag might have looked like).
We see how necessary it was for the Israelites to have tribal flags at that time.
Let's move to our current time and study the American flag.
There are some basic symbols/features of the American flag that we all have learned at an early age. Let's refresh our memories:
13 stripes - stand for the original 13 colonies. Red and white, alternating (seven red and six white stripes).
50 stars - each one represents a state. If any new states are added then a new star would be added.
Now let's talk about something strange - gold fringe.
Have you noticed that sometimes the American flag has a gold fringe? (see picture graphic below):
At first I thought that it had to be a military thing but then I looked up military flags and found this chart:
|
Branch |
Flag |
|
U.S. Army |
Solid green with white block letters “U.S. Army” |
|
U.S. Navy |
Solid blue with white block letters “U.S. Navy” |
|
U.S. Air Force |
Solid light blue with white block letters “U.S. Air Force” |
|
U.S. Marine Corps |
Solid scarlet red with an eagle emblem and gold lettering |
|
U.S. Coast Guard |
Vertical red and white stripes with a blue canton and white
block letters “U.S. Coast Guard” |
Finally, I remembered that a few years ago I took a screenshot on my phone of a picture explaining the gold fringe (see below):
This explanation brings us to another "issue" that will require a post dedicated to that topic alone - that is the difference between "common law" and "Admiralty law" or "Maritime Law."
Somewhere along in my research I was guided to "28 US code 3002" and in there I found out that the "United States" means "a Federal corporation" (copied directly from the webpage):
I then had to look up what a "corporation" literally means:
Corporation - a legal business entity; an association or company
The trail of questions and concerns keeps going. This definition then brought my mind to "pledging allegiance to the flag"
Let's define:
Pledge - a binding promise or agreement to do something
- a serious or formal promise
Then I started wondering if people are actually pledging allegiance to a company/ a corporation!!! "The United States Corporation" - I think that might be the case.
All of these new findings were quite concerning until I remembered the verse below - everything will come to light.
