I'm so glad that you stopped by!

For those of you who are not familiar with "Hops" (a.k.a. Linky party) - a Blog Hop &/or Shop Hop is an event where viewers/followers can upload links onto my blog......Links to their items in their Etsy shops or links to their Blogs. And then we can "hop" from blog to blog or shop to shop.

The theme this month is:
"AUTUMN- Leaves, Trees & Colors"

Anything having to do with Autumn - Anything that has the colors of fall, or anything about leaves &/or trees.

If you have anything that remotely touches this topic - then please share it with us.

Although I would love it if everyone joined my blog or became followers of my blog - that is not a requirement to participate in this "Hop". All I ask is that you keep your submissions decent - no offensive content please.

Well, actually there is a second rule:

"Dragon Lingerie" Beans

"Dragon Lingerie" Beans

Every year I try to grow one unique variety of either bush beans or pole beans - this year I grew the "Dragon Lingerie" bean.  I'm not quite sure why the seed company gave these original beans that name - maybe the purple lines look like lace and I guess the strange formations of these beans are "dragon-esque".  They were fun to grow but this was the first and last year for these beans in my garden.  They were just not good producers......now we did have a drought this year but I still was not very impressed with the quantity and the taste quality.

In Remembrance of 9/11

Favorite Scripture Sunday #1

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

I have many favorite Bible verses - almost an endless list really.  I decided to share these bits of God's Word with you once a month on what I am calling "Favorite Scripture Sunday."  I will talk a little bit about that verse and I would love it if you would leave comments on how that verse has impacted your life & what you believe that God is telling you through that verse.

Today's verse is a favorite of many....John 3:16 - the basis of our Christian beliefs.  What strikes me is that "God so loved the world" - the world means everyone! - It doesn't matter what race, age or gender you are - God's saving love is for you!  And all you have to do is believe - accept that free gift of forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ and you will live forever!

This was one of the first Bible verses that I memorized and it is still near and dear to my soul.

"VanGogh" Sunflowers (aka Jolly Joker)

"VanGogh" Sunflowers (aka Jolly Joker)

These sunflowers were originally called "Jolly Joker" but I changed the name to "VanGogh".  This variety reminds me of the sunflowers that Van Gogh painted:  "Still Life Vase With Sunflowers" .   I feel a special bond with Van Gogh (no - I didn't cut off my ear and No I don't eat paint) - because my "camp name" was "VanGogh" and I love sunflowers.

Breakfast BKT (Bacon, Kale, Tomato) & Egg Sandwich

Breakfast Bacon Lettuce Kale Tomato & Egg Sandwich

Kale is meant to be with either potatoes or tomatoes - simply delicious combinations.  Currently my garden is overflowing with tomatoes and kale so I decided to make my breakfast BKT (instead of BLT) sandwich - it is so easy to make.

I called it a sandwich but I ate it with a fork & knife - if you wanted to eat it with your hands then add a second piece of bread (toasted) on top.

Printable Recipe 

1 slice of bread

1 tomato (washed, drained, stemmed & sliced)(I used a Roma tomato but any tomato variety is fine)

3 or 4 tender Kale leaves (washed, drained & "deveined" - see How to "Devein" Greens) (see Kale varieties)

1 egg

3 or 4 slices of bacon

butter

STEP 1 - Fry the bacon and place in a toaster oven to stay warm.STEP 2- Take a piece out of the middle of the slice of bread (see first picture below)
STEP 3 - Spread butter on each side of the bread, place in a frying pan and pour the cracked egg into the hole (see second picture below)
STEP 4 - Cook over medium heat until desired "doneness" is achieved and then flip (see third picture below).

STEP 5 - Continue cooking until desired egg texture is achieved (I like my yoke runny).
STEP 6 - Assemble the sandwich:  first the bread/egg, then the raw kale leaves, bacon & finally the tomato slices.
NOTE:  Multiply the ingredient amounts by the number of sandwiches that you wish to make.

Add pepper if you desire & ENJOY!!
