If you were following this blog in 2015 then you will be familiar with my "365 Days of Being Thankful" challenge.  I have missed reporting on my thankfulness since I finished my challenge 2 years ago, so I decided to at least give a weekly Thankfulness Report & include a Growth Report also.  Growth in our Christian walk, growth in the garden & growth on this blog.  Finally, I am also including a "Posts From the Past" feature - ENJOY!


This week I have been thankful for second chances.  I am also thankful for beautiful Spring weather.  I am most thankful that my God is always there for me helping me through difficult times.

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'  So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper;  I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?"  Hebrews 13:5 & 6
Four years ago I did a series called "Living a Childless Life" - this post is all about loneliness.

We had a good start to our yard waste burning - we only have 2 months out of each Spring season to burn our tree cuttings and shrubs.  We always reserve any sticks/twigs that we might be able to use in our garden this summer.

Features From My Visit to: The Toledo Museum of Art - GLASS #2

TMA (Toledo Museum of Art) is one of my favorite places in Toledo, Ohio.  I first visited this beautiful museum when I was in high school in Canada.  I grew up in the Windsor area and I was privileged to go to a high school with an advanced art program.  We actually visited the TMA twice throughout my high school career.  I had no idea when I was a teenager that I would actually marry an American and then settle in the Toledo area!  I now visit my favorite museum once a year.

I will be featuring a few pieces from the TMA each month.

We are finishing off the features for the month of April with this beautiful Tiffany chandelier.

“Hispano-Moresque Electrolier”

By Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933)

I love the word "Electrolier" - I think that I'm going to start calling chandeliers "electroliers" (lol).  This is a "Tiffany" - I'm sure that we are all familiar with "Tiffany lamps" designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany &/or his "Tiffany Studios."  The pictures above do not depict the true colors.  The colors of the glass used in this electrolier are earthy olive green, peachy pink, coppery orange and maise yellow.    The design is the typical style used by Tiffany: "Art Nouveau".
