CHIANTI Sunflower Variety
This year's sunflower season was an unusual one here on God's Growing Garden - it was delayed. Usually, my sunflower posts start at the beginning of September but I had a late start and then we had a big storm (click HERE to read "Sunflower Season & the Storm"). I grew three varieties this year (actually, I grew four but the fourth was a joke - I'll explain in a different post). This is the final sunflower post of 2026. Today I am featuring: "CHIANTI" Sunflower variety.
I do not drink so I had to look up "chianti". Chianti is wine produced in the Tuscany region of Italy. I occasionally cook with wine and bake with liquor but I do not drink. Anyway, I'm not sure if the color of this sunflower is truly similar to a glass of Chianti. Either way, it is a beautiful sunflower.
Before showing the featured pictures, I wanted to remind you why sunflowers are my favorite flower. Sunflowers always turn towards the sun - you can literally see them gently turning throughout the day to follow the sun. To be very clear - I am NOT a "sun" worshiper. However, I am a "Son" worshiper: Jesus Christ, the Son of God and I strive every day to grow and turn towards Him in every aspect of my life.
ENJOY the following pictures!
