DAY#20 - Freedom Quotes: Unalterable

FreedomMonth

DAY#20 - A Month of Freedom Quotes:
Unalterable

We are over halfway through the month long series focusing on Freedom.  I realized that we are on the verge of losing our liberty after only one week of doing these posts.  This is a serious subject - I hope that you will pray for discernment and then stand up with strength from God to preserve our freedom.

We will begin with the basics by defining "freedom".

Freedom - the absence of necessity, coercion or constraint in choice or action
- liberation from restraint/slavery from the power of another

Let's also define "unalterable":

Unalterable - not capable of being changed

Being free affects absolutely everything:
-worship
-health
-prosperity
-speech
-protection
-education
-(and so on......)

Our freedom should not be capable of being changed (or taken away).  Not capable implies forever.

POISON IVY - "See 3 & Leave It Be" Is Confusing

POISON IVY - "See 3 & Leave It Be" Is Confusing

Have you ever heard the poison ivy warning saying?:  "See 3 Let It Be".  I learned that in Girl Guides/Girl Scouts.  In other words, if you see a cluster of 3 leaves - leave it be - don't touch! - It's poison ivy.  However, as a child I always found that confusing because it seems like there are so many plants with clusters of three leaves.

Hopefully today I will be able to clear up that confusion so that you will be able to avoid poison ivy/poison oak while gardening (at the end of this post I provide pictures of poison oak and poison ivy).

GREEN BEANS

This is a picture of a green bean plant (bush green bean) and notice the cluster of three leaves!! (see first two pictures below).  These are NOT poison ivy.  A beginner gardener might pull this plant thinking that it was poison ivy.

In the post below, I feature a few green bean recipes and other bean tips:

BLACKBERRIES

These two pictures below show that blackberry leaves also have clusters of three leaves.  These leaves have a much more jagged edge than poison ivy leaves.

In the post below, I show the amount of patience it takes to grow fruit but I also include some delicious recipes.

POISON IVY & POISON OAK

The difference between poison ivy and poison oak is the shape of each leaf.  The cluster of three is still the same, it is just the shape that is different.  The first picture below is poison ivy - the leaf edge is smooth.  The second and third pictures are pictures of poison oak because the leaves resemble the shape of oak leaves.

The main preventative in getting a poison ivy rash is being able to identify the plant so that you can avoid touching the leaves completely.

If you've ever done any genealogy research you know that one generation is not a long period of time.
Wouldn't you be mortified if it were your generation that caused American freedom to be annihilated????

FreedomMonth18

Last year I did a series on Bible version Discrepancies (There are links to all 8 posts in that series at the end of this post ), where we dove deep into the Bible and studied a section of Scripture in two different Bible versions.

In the picture above, we are studying Luke 4:18 and Isaiah 61:1 because they are the exact same verse (Luke quotes directly from the Old Testament in Luke 4:18).  We are using the New King James version for Luke 4:18 and the New International Version for Isaiah 61:1.

The main discrepancy as I see it is that the New King James Version lists 3 different freedom situations as opposed to only 2 listed in the NIV:
1.  Proclaim Liberty to the captives (both versions list this one exactly).
2.  Recovery of sight to the blind. (Only listed in NKJV).  I believe this is talking about spiritual sight/understanding.
2.  Liberty to the oppressed (NKJV) and the NIV lists "prisoners released".  The NKJV makes more common sense to me.  Oppressed is defined as: having excessive or unfair burdens imposed.  An oppressed person is not necessarily imprisoned in formal jail.  That's why I believe there are three different freeing examples.

Either way, there is freedom for all captives through Jesus Christ!!

John Adams was a Founding Father and the 2nd president of the United States of America.

Similar to the message from yesterday - Losing our freedom is serious.  We can NOT allow this to happen.  While I believe that we are close to losing all of our freedoms, there is still hope - it's not lost yet!

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States of America.

I fear that the substance of today's quote is already happening here in America.  Our freedoms are crumbling away because of the "narrative" of division.  We are told daily on social media and television that we hate each other.  I do NOT hate my neighbor but I hear that mind numbing narrative ranted constantly.  That is absolute destruction from within.  However, I do NOT believe that it is a hopeless case.  The TRUTH is that most Americans by far do NOT hate their neighbors.  This destruction CAN AND MUST be stopped from within.
