Drive Out the Mockers

Drive Out the Mockers

I believe that President Donald J. Trump was elected because that was God's plan for America.  I have never used this weekly devotion time to call out the media but I feel led by my Lord to say something.  I will begin with a quote from Franklin Graham about the election: "I don't have any scientific information, I don't have a stack of emails to read to you.  But I have an opinion.  I believe that it was God.  God showed up.  He answered the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people across this land who had been praying for this country."  Well, I agree wholeheartedly - that is exactly what happened.

It was an electoral college landslide win.  Without the electoral college, the giant populations in the huge cities of America would be controlling life for those of us living in small towns and rural areas.  President Trump won "fair and square."  Mainstream media have continued to mock the President and persist on ridiculing any supporter or anyone who remotely agrees with the President.

Look at the violent protests brought on by these "mockers" who truly "stir up a city." - destroying property, injuring others and blocking traffic to emergency vehicles.  I agree that freedom of speech is a human right but only when it is done peacefully without egregious consequences.  Even during a "so-called" peaceful protest, the signs raised and rhetoric used are so offensive, blasphemous and foul that they could be considered verbally violent!

Then, when anyone tries to correct the media, they become even more vicious in their insults.  (I agree that Mr. President has not been the perfect example during parts of his past but much of what the mainstream media is reporting are abusive lies).

"Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;  whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse."  Proverbs 9:7

Many of the media's retractions of falsehoods have been microscopic or sarcastic.

"Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright."  Proverbs 14:9

Many of these "so-called" journalists have even taken to mocking those in lesser situations.

"Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker;  whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished."  Proverbs 17:5

Also, attacking a 10 year old boy will always be UNACCEPTABLE!

"The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures."  Proverbs 30:17

Don't let these mockers ruin your day - take comfort in knowing that they will reap what they sow.  We might not see these consequences for their actions but God will NEVER be mocked.

We have a responsibility to call out the liars and mockers.  Study the verse above - look how severe the verbiage is: "they will be pecked out by ravens and eaten by vultures."

"Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife;  quarrels and insults are ended."  Proverbs 22:10

Let's drive out the mockers in Jesus name.

  4. I agree. I voted for Trump mostly because the alternative was unacceptable. But now that he's one, I will fully support him, especially in prayer. Facebook is getting awful with all the negative and destructive posts. :(

  6. The divide among voters seems to have grown epic this election cycle. We need to remember to be considerate and respectful. We also need to earn God's blessing.
