Learning From History #4 - WWII SYMBOLISM
Over the past few years I have been very concerned that the world is repeating history. I know that many parts of the history that we are teaching our younger generation has been watered down and even outright twisted into a falsehood. This "history tweaking" is happening just because the truth might "offend" someone. I know for a fact that this history twisting has happened because many of my family members lived through and remember World War II.
In this series we are going to study the difficult parts of history that might have recently, intentionally or unintentionally been overlooked.
Clarification/Disclaimer - I hesitated to include a disclaimer because this might do the very thing that I am trying to avoid - candy-coat history and thereby not tell the whole truth. The information below lists and details the WWII symbolism. By no means am I saying nor implying that I hate nor discriminate against any race, nationality, gender or religious group. I am also NOT condoning any behavior/action/symbol detailed in history.
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
1 John 4:1
Last time we learned about the "Nuremberg Code" (click HERE to view that post). Today we are going to be learning about the "Nuremberg Code", which was established during the Nuremberg Trials in 1947. This "Code" is a list of 10 standards of ethical medical behavior that ALL physicians are to adhere to in the post WWII era (These are all still valid TODAY). Almost every country in the world signed the Nuremberg Code. The 10 standards are listed below and I detailed certain points for some of the standards.
TO BE VERY CLEAR - I am NOT supporting nor condoning any of the symbols listed below. These are shown only for teaching purposes so that we might AVOID REPEATING HISTORY.
Swastika - this crooked X (Or cross) symbol originated in Eurasia thousands of years ago. The word "swastika" is Sanskrit meaning "good fortune" or "well being". This symbol's meaning was forever changed during WWII by the Nazi Party when it took on a racist meaning (symbolizing Aryan identity).
Today, this evil symbol is still used by neo-Nazis including the Ukrainian "Azov Batallion" (see picture below).
The swastika is not the only Nazi symbol that is being used by the Ukrainian Azov Batallion.
The Third Reich SS division used a symbol shown in the picture below. Notice that the Ukrainian military started using this "SS" symbol in 2014 when the Russo-Ukrainian War began (They slightly extended the middle line and inverted the "N" shape but it is still the same symbol).
As well as the SS symbol, this same Batallion is using the Nazi Black Sun (which is also a satanic symbol) in their current Asov logo.
It is ridiculous to think that this group could be using these symbols without actually knowing what they represent. History is repeating itself.
It is vital that we pay attention to the symbols that any group or government is using as their logo.
Finally, I know from firsthand accounts what it was like for the common German citizen during WWII. Let's not repeat that horrible history and instead let's support "We the people" everywhere in the world & NOT support the evil governments.
(see picture below)
"There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
