7 Covenants - What Happens When We Break God's Covenants?

This is the final post in the 7 Covenants series.  Over the past couple months we studied each covenant in detail:

Today we will be focusing on:
What happens when we break God's covenants?

Just to be very clear, we will again begin by defining the word:
Covenant - a solemn, binding agreement established by God with individuals or groups.  It involves promises, blessings and stipulations that underscore the relationship between God and His people.

And then let's define two words from the definition of covenant above: solemn & binding.

Solemn- very serious;  done with the utmost sincerity

Binding- imposing an obligation

We have touched on some of the serious consequences of breaking God's covenants in the past posts.  Like the one below - the consequences that happened (and consequences are still in effect for us today) when Adam & Eve disobeyed God's command to stay away from the "Tree of Knowledge".
(see passage below):

Then, we see in both passages in Deuteronomy (see next 2 pictures below) that there are very serious consequences for worshiping other gods.

Our Heavenly Father will cause droughts and everyone who broke His covenant will starve and perish.

God finds anyone who breaks His covenants detestable.
Let's define detestable - deserving abhorrence;
                   -  abominable;
                                 -  worthy of being hated.

More idol worship by the Israelites (see below) caused God to pour out His fury on them.  God scattered and dispersed the Israelites throughout the countries.

God will disregard His people when they fail to keep His covenant.
Let's define
disregard - ignore,
                                   -  pay no attention to

The clearest Bible passage is in Hebrews (see below) explaining what it really is like to reject Jesus Christ.
- treating the blood of the covenant as an unholy thing is like trampling the Son of God underfoot
- and it is insulting the Holy Spirit (grieving the Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin - Mark 3:29)

It is obvious that "chosen people" can lose their favored status if they reject Jesus Christ.
Keeping God's covenant is serious business with dire/eternal consequences when the covenants are broken.
