Biblical Anatomy #15 - THROAT
Today we continue studying in the series called "Biblical Anatomy."

Anatomy - is the study of parts and structures of organisms.

What is "Biblical Anatomy" you might ask?  It is the study of the structure of the Christian Body (The Christian family/church).

Today we focus on THROAT:

Throat- the passage through the neck to the stomach & lungs.  (the throat includes the esophagus, windpipe/trachea, voice box/larynx, tonsils and epiglottis.

2 Functions of the THROAT:

1.  Air flows through to the lungs
2.  Food passes through to the stomach

We studied "breathing" as it pertains the the Biblical Body of Christ when we studied the NOSE (click HERE to view "Biblical Anatomy #7 - NOSE")

In this post we will be focusing on the digestion part of the throat.

I'm sure that we have all had experience eating something that did not agree with our digestion.  Whatever that was probably tasted delicious, but after we swallowed it we regretted it terribly.  To me, "swallowing", when we are talking in the spiritual sense is about making a decision to follow a leader or a certain belief/philosophy.  It may taste wonderful but be poison that will ruin our life.
See the passage below - it is talking about "dining" with a ruler (a leader).  And there is a serious warning:  "Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive."
Following false teachers is like swallowing poison.

David wrote about his enemies that "their throat is an open tomb."  Swallowing evil doctrine and following evil people will result in death. (see verses below)

When we swallow the Bread of life - then we will have eternal life! (click HERE to read "Jesus Is....The Bread of Life")
