7 Covenants - #2 Noahic

SundayCovenants2

7 Covenants - #2 Noahic

This is the second of seven very important covenants in the Bible.  Most Christians can only name a couple (before doing my research I have to admit that I could only think of 4), and many other people only focus on one covenant from the Old Testament as being the "ultimate" covenant.

We will be studying each covenant in detail.
The second covenant is the Noahic.

Just to be very clear, we will again begin by defining the word:
Covenant - a solemn, binding agreement established by God with individuals or groups.  It involves promises, blessings and stipulations that underscore the relationship between God and His people.

And then let's define two words from the definition of covenant above: solemn & binding.

Solemn- very serious;  done with the utmost sincerity

Binding- imposing an obligation

Just like the first covenant, this covenant is pretty obvious from the title (NOAHic) that we are talking about Noah and the flood.

This covenant is a promise that the earth will never be destroyed by a flood again - Read Bible passage below:

SundayCovenants2a

Let's backup a bit and reread the account of Noah in the Bible
 - first about building the Ark (Click HERE to view "TREES#16(a) - Noah Building the Ark")
- then about the actual flood (Click HERE to view "TREES#16(b) - Noah & the Flood")

SundayTrees16B3

With this covenant, God gave us the most beautiful gift that can still be seen today - the rainbow.
Also, God made this covenant between Himself, Noah, all living creatures AND with all "perpetual" generations" - that's all of us today!

Learning about God's covenants can prove that His Word lasts forever and it also proves that we can trust Him ALWAYS.

Garden Fresh Blackberry Ice Cream (Seedless)

unnamed (18)

Garden Fresh Blackberry Ice Cream

Our blackberry patch is now 13 years old and it is finally producing massive amounts of blackberries!  God's abundance is so wonderful!!  (click HERE to read "A Fruit Grower's Patience - BLACKBERRIES")

My husband highly dislikes the large blackberry seeds, so I created this ice cream recipe using my blackberry syrup that I previously shared with you (click HERE to view "Blackberry Syrup RECIPE" )

(Our best blackberry harvest yet - see pictures below):

3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
About 2 cups of blackberry syrup (Make syrup before making ice cream and allow to cool) (see NOTE in instructions below and click HERE to get that blackberry syrup RECIPE)
dash of sea salt or kosher salt

Begin by making the blackberry syrup (preferably the day before or at least 4 hours before making the ice cream) and set aside until later.

NOTE - In the syrup recipe (click HERE for recipe)  I increased the fresh blackberries to a heaping 2 cups when making the juice and then I used the entire juice amount when adding in 1/2 cup sugar and tablespoon of corn starch.

In a large mixing bowl combine the cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.  Whisk until the sugar is dissolved (do not whip - just whisk gently).

unnamed (28)

Then stir in the cooled blackberry syrup. Stir until the blackberry syrup is dispersed throughout the liquid(see pictures below):

unnamed (27)

Chill the liquid ice cream mixture in the fridge for about 1 hour.  Remove from the fridge & add to your ice cream maker (see picture below) (follow the manufacturer's instructions).

Remove from the ice cream maker.

Serve immediately (see other serving options below).  Place the remaining ice cream in the freezer.

7 Covenants - #1 Adamic/Edenic

SundayCovenants1

7 Covenants - #1 Adamic / Edenic

There are seven very important covenants in the Bible.  Most Christians can only name a couple (before doing my research I have to admit that I could only think of 4), and many other people only focus on one covenant from the Old Testament as being the "ultimate" covenant.

Today we are starting a new series where we will study each covenant in detail.
The first covenant is the Adamic or Edenic.

Let's begin by defining the word:
Covenant - a solemn, binding agreement established by God with individuals or groups.  It involves promises, blessings and stipulations that underscore the relationship between God and His people.

I want to be as clear as possible, so let's define two words from the definition of covenant above: solemn & binding.

Solemn- very serious;  done with the utmost sincerity

Binding- imposing an obligation

It is pretty obvious from the title of this covenant (ADAMic or EDENic) that we are talking about Adam & Eve and the fall of mankind that occurred in the Garden of Eden.

SundayCovenants1b

In the passage above we see what God required of mankind and specifically described what was allowed.

Then in the Bible verses below we see the stipulation portion of this covenant - NO eating from the tree of knowledge!!!

SundayCovenants1a

Just think of how amazing it must have been to take care of the Garden of Eden!  I praise and thank God when He provides garden produce seen below, but just imagine how even more abundant harvesting from the Garden of Eden must have been!

unnamed (71)

And now the very serious consequences of breaking the obligation of the covenant.
The serpent AND mankind (Adam & Eve) all have to pay for going against the Adamic/Edenic covenant.

In the Scripture below you will notice that it doesn't specifically say that the serpent is satan, however, in
Revelation 20:2 it says ".....that ancient serpent who is the devil or satan......."

SundayCovenants1c

Then, we learn about the consequences for Adam and Eve - consequences that are for ALL of mankind.

SundayCovenants1d

SundayCovenants1e

Lastly, we see that the consequences of Adam & Eve's actions even affect the tree of life.  God puts massive protection around the tree of life (see Scripture passage above).  Also, click HERE to view "TREES#8 - The Tree of Life"

Learning about God's covenants is important.  As we see, this first covenant affects us all even today.

Monarch Butterfly Visits the Sunflower Patch

unnamed - 2025-08-23T142959.525

Monarch Butterfly Visits the Sunflower Patch

I grew up near "Point Pelee National Park" in Canada which is a popular Monarch butterfly migration destination.  As a child I even made a Monarch butterfly costume (click HERE to view).

I have noticed an increased butterfly population in my garden over the past few years.  Below are the links to previous blog posts about butterflies in my garden:

Click on the following titles to view other butterflies that I've captured (on camera) in my garden (previous years):
Find the Crawlers & Critters

Now I can add Monarch Butterfly to the list of butterfly types in my garden.
ENJOY the pictures below!
