The Best Hand Crank Nut Grater

The Best Hand Crank Nut Grater

This was a gift from my parents & I am amazed at the precision of this grater/grinder.  It is made by "Westmark" and is advertised as an "Almond grater" but it can be used for any nut.  I used hazelnuts for this post.
(NOTE: - this is NOT a sponsored post - I am not getting reimbursed in any way for this review.  When I find a product that I really enjoy I will share it with you)

Before I received this Westmark grater I was using a hand held & hand crank grater that had been used so much that the crank handle was hanging on by a thread.  This old hand held grater would always allow huge chunks of nuts to pass through without being grated - anything that I baked would have unwanted large nut pieces (that won't happen anymore).

I was also amazed at the suction base that miraculously anchors the grater to the table/counter.

If I had to complain about something the only thing would be that I needed my husband's strong assistance in unscrewing the handle - otherwise it's a perfect kitchen tool.

I am truly amazed at how accurately this baking tool grated these hazelnuts - see picture below.

ENJOY!

  3. Wow, that looks really neat. I've been baking a lot lately and I just got my first stand mixer and I'm super excited about it. I've been baking desserts like crazy since I got it. Thanks for the review on this gadget. Maybe one day I will own one for myself. :) Oh, I was wondering, could you grind coffee beans in it. That would be cool to grind fresh coffee beans for your coffee every morning.

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by. I don't think that you could grind coffee beans because it would be more shaved than ground - I don't know really - maybe I should try it.
      Happy baking!

  4. This looks really nice! I like adding ground nuts to baked goods (you can sub a bit of ground nuts for flour) to make them a little bit more wholesome, but I think I would use this to make pecan-crusted chicken-yum!
